Metoclopramide syrup dosage is 10 mg/kg (maximum of 20 mg/kg).
The patient takes 40 mg of doriden for the first 3 days after oral administration. This dose is reduced to 20 mg/kg and then is tapered to 10 mg/kg every 3 days until the dose reaches 20 mg/kg over 3 days and then to 20 mg/kg every other day until the dose reaches 40 mg/kg.
The patient should avoid alcohol or tobacco for 3 days before starting the study.

The patients are given doriden syrup or its solution at a dose of 3 ml/kg (maximum 10 ml/kg) every 2 hours. The administration is performed with a syringe pump. If there is an indication of decreased cardiac output, this may be assessed with ECG monitoring.
The patients should avoid alcohol or tobacco for 3 days before starting the study.
The dose of doriden is tapered to 60 mg/kg every 3 days and then increased to 75 mg/kg every 3 days until the dose reaches 110 mg/kg over 3 days and then to 125 mg/kg every 3 days until the dose reaches 150 mg/kg over 3 days.
